Warehouse Team Leader

The Warehouse Team Leader - Inbound is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of the inbound team to ensure efficient and accurate receipt, inspection, and storage of goods. The role involves leading a team, maintaining safety and quality standards, and driving productivity to meet operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership and Supervision:

   • Manage and lead the inbound team, including scheduling, task delegation, and performance monitoring.
   • Provide training and mentorship to team members to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
   • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

2. Inbound Operations Management:

   • Oversee the receipt, unloading, and inspection of incoming shipments.
   • Ensure goods are accurately checked against purchase orders and delivery documents.
   • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., purchasing, inventory) to resolve discrepancies.
   • Monitor storage processes to optimize space utilization and inventory accuracy.

3. Process Improvement:

   • Identify opportunities to streamline inbound operations for improved efficiency and accuracy.
   • Implement best practices and support continuous improvement initiatives.

4. Safety and Compliance:

   • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper use of equipment and handling procedures.
   • Conduct regular safety inspections and address hazards promptly.

5. Reporting and Communication:

   • Maintain accurate records of inbound activities, including inventory updates and incident reports.
   • Communicate effectively with management and other teams to address operational needs.

Key Skills and Competencies:

• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of warehouse and inventory management systems (e.g., WMS).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and other relevant software.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Qualifications and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in logistics or supply chain is a plus).
• Proven experience in a warehouse environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
• Forklift certification (preferred).
