About The Role

As a HR Advisor, you will support the Employee Relations Manager in ensuring a consistent, fair, and risk-minimized approach to employee relations (ER) across the organization. You will play a key role in promoting a positive ER culture while managing critical HR cases and advising on complex employment matters.

About You

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice, guidance, and support to managers on all employee relations matters.
  • Effectively manage casework, including disciplinaries, grievances, employment tribunals, TUPE, redundancies, and absence management.
  • Draft accurate outcome letters for ER cases, ensuring clear and appropriate communication of decisions.
  • Build strong working relationships with business units to promote healthy employee relations practices.
  • Present HR updates at branch and regional meetings as required.
  • Travel to various branch locations to support ER-related cases.
  • Monitor trends in employment practices and recommend proactive actions.
  • Provide expert advice on disciplinary actions, welfare cases, and grievances, including coaching managers where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant employment law and company policies by staying current with changes in legislation.
  • Attend seminars and training programs to continually improve knowledge.
  • Participate in HR-related projects aligned with company strategy.
  • Support employment tribunal claims and manage “without prejudice” conversations to resolve disputes.
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role as directed by the line manager.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Must have experience in a human resources environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law.
  • Experience with employee relations procedures, including employment tribunals, diversity, and equal opportunities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Proficiency in IT skills.

Desirable:

  • CIPD qualification or degree in a related field.
  • Experience within a large, multi-site organization.
  • Experience in a commercially driven business environment
